Use the mild weather to socialise your puppy
A puppy's first few months are when it learns what is normal and safe. In most Indian cities, heat or monsoon cuts that time short. In Bangalore you can get out for much of the day for most of the year, which makes the job much easier.
Before its vaccinations are complete, carry your puppy or keep it in your arms and let it watch and listen. After your vet gives the go-ahead, let it experience, calmly and in small doses:
- Traffic, autos and two-wheelers from a safe distance
- Lifts, stairs, basement parking and delivery riders at the gate
- People of all ages, including children, helmets, umbrellas and uniforms
- Calm, vaccinated adult dogs
- Car rides, the groomer's table and the vet's waiting room
Pair each new thing with a treat, and go home before your puppy is overwhelmed. A well-socialised Goldendoodle grows into the relaxed family dog the breed is known for.
The work-from-home trap
Many Bangalore buyers work from home some or all of the week. A Goldendoodle puppy that spends every hour with you learns that company is permanent, and the first office day can bring whining, barking and chewing.
- Give your puppy its own resting spot away from your desk, with a chew or puzzle.
- Leave the flat for short spells every day, even when you do not need to.
- Build up to the length of a real office day before you need it.
- Line up a walker or daycare for office days before they start.
It is much easier to teach calm alone time to a puppy than to fix separation anxiety in an adult.
A water-loving dog in a city of lakes
Many Goldendoodles inherit the Golden Retriever's love of water, and Bangalore has lakes in almost every neighbourhood. Keep your dog out of them. Many urban lakes receive sewage, and still, warm water can grow blue-green algae, which can be toxic to dogs even in small amounts. Stagnant water can also carry leptospirosis.
If your Goldendoodle loves to swim:
- Use a clean pool that allows dogs, or a paddling pool at home.
- Rinse off chlorine or dirt afterwards and dry the coat and ears thoroughly.
- Walk around lakes on a lead, and do not let your dog drink from them.

- Grooming time: a wavier F1 coat is more forgiving between brushes.

Bengaluru's proposed dog rules
The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has proposed new rules for pet dogs. As of September 2026 they were reported to be still at the proposal stage, with objections invited, rather than notified. As reported, the draft includes:
- An annual licence, with a proposed fee of ₹500
- Mandatory microchipping and up-to-date rabies vaccination
- Sterilisation of pet dogs
- A limit of three pet dogs per household
- Leashed walks, and penalties for not cleaning up after your dog
The final rules may differ, so check what is in force when your puppy comes home. Keep its vaccination records safe either way.
From Bathinda to Bangalore
Bangalore is more than 2,000 km from Bathinda by road, so the handover is planned together, well ahead of time.
Delivery
