Standard Poodle Puppies for Pune

Pune sits on the Deccan plateau, inland from the coast, and its year falls into three distinct seasons. Each asks something different of a Standard Poodle's coat and walks.

Winter, roughly October to February

The easiest months. Mornings are cool and days are comfortable, so long walks fit in at almost any time. A medium, even clip is practical, and this is the best time for a new puppy to settle in.

Hot and dry, roughly March to May

Afternoons get hot, often close to 40°C at the peak, and the air is dry and dusty. Move to a short clip, walk early in the morning and after sunset, and test pavements with the back of your hand before letting paws on them. Dry dust works into a curly coat, so brush to the skin more often in these weeks. Keep fresh water available and give the dog a cool, shaded spot indoors.

Monsoon, roughly June to September

Wet, but less humid than on the coast. Keep the clip short enough to dry quickly, towel and dry the coat to the skin after wet walks, and check ears and paws, where damp lingers. Standing water is best avoided, and your vet can confirm the vaccinations your dog needs before the rains.

Because the licence paperwork can ask for a society no-objection certificate, your housing society is the practical first step, not an afterthought. Before you book a puppy:

• Ask for the society's written pet policy, and for the NOC process.
• Find out where dogs may be walked and any timings for common areas.
• Introduce yourself to the committee as a future dog owner; it helps later.

Independent houses and ground floors

If your home has a gate, terrace or garden, a Standard Poodle will enjoy it, as long as the boundary is secure and the terrace is off-limits in the midday heat of March to May. Our checklist for getting a house and garden ready applies just as well in Pune.

Pune is more than 1,500 km from Bathinda by road, so the handover is planned together, well ahead.

Delivery

When we deliver, your puppy travels by car with a responsible person and is handed to you in person. Puppies are never sent alone as cargo. We do not transport puppies in extreme heat; the journey waits for a safe day. Before delivery, we set up a live video call so you can see your puppy and its mother. Ask us about delivery timing and any cost for your city before you book.

Choosing the timing

Pune's hottest weeks, in April and May, fall at the same time as peak heat along the route north, so those months are the hardest for a journey. The cooler months from about October to February are the easiest for travel and for a puppy settling into a new home. Tell us your preferred window early.

Collection

You can collect your puppy from us in Bathinda, which is also the best chance to meet the parents and see where the litter was raised. Collecting means you meet the mother in person and see the litter's home for yourself.

Pedigree documentation and parentage decide the tier. Delivery timing and cost for Pune are agreed separately, before you book.

Running costs are roughly ₹6,000 to ₹12,000 a month for food, grooming and routine vet care, plus the annual dog licence.
