Room to run, and when to hold back
Greater Noida's wide sector roads, green belts and society grounds give a Goldendoodle more room than most of NCR. An adult will happily take a long walk, a game of fetch and a sniff around the park every day, and it is calmer at home for it.
The mistake is doing too much too soon. A Goldendoodle keeps growing until about 12 to 18 months, and hip and elbow dysplasia can run in both parent breeds. Until it is grown:
- Keep walks short and let the puppy set the pace; stop before it tires.
- Let it play freely on grass rather than running long distances on roads.
- Skip jogging, running beside a bicycle and repeated jumps off walls or from cars.
- Keep fetch to a few throws on soft ground, not an hour of sprinting.
Ask your vet how to build up exercise as your dog grows. Once it is adult, the space around you becomes a real advantage.
Grass seeds, ticks and the doodle coat
Empty plots, green belts and dry grass verges are part of Greater Noida, and a Goldendoodle's coat collects whatever it walks through. Two things are worth a routine.
Grass seeds
Dry grass seeds catch in a wavy or curly coat and can work their way into the ears, between the toes, into the armpits and even up the nose. After walks through long or dry grass:
- Run your hands and a comb through the coat, paws, armpits and ears.
- Keep the hair between the paw pads and around the ear openings trimmed short.
- See a vet promptly if your dog suddenly shakes its head, keeps licking one paw or sneezes hard after a walk.
Ticks
Ticks wait in grass and hedges, and they are easy to miss in a thick coat. Tick-borne diseases are common in Indian dogs, so ask your vet about a tick preventive suited to your puppy's age, and check along the ears, neck, armpits and between the toes after every walk in long grass.
A retriever's mouth on an open plot
A Goldendoodle inherits the Golden Retriever's urge to pick things up and carry them. On open ground that can mean food waste, plastic, bones and anything else left on a plot. Two cues are worth teaching from the first week:
- “Leave it”, rewarded with something better than whatever was on the ground.
- “Drop it”, practised as a swap for a treat, so giving things up is never a battle.
Give the retrieving instinct a proper outlet too: a favourite toy to carry home, or a short game of fetch in the park. A Goldendoodle with a job to do is much less likely to invent its own.
Meeting other dogs
A Goldendoodle usually wants to greet every dog it sees, including street dogs in the sectors, which may not want to be greeted. Walk on a lead outside fenced areas, keep your puppy away from unfamiliar dogs until its vaccinations are complete, and give other dogs space.
Registration and society rules in Greater Noida
Every pet in Greater Noida has to be registered with GNIDA, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, within 15 days of the owner taking it on, using a licensed vet's vaccination record. The Authority's online registration opened in 2024 through its Mitra app; at launch it was reported to cost nothing, with a ₹2,000 penalty for owners who skip it.

Heat, smog and the coat
Greater Noida shares NCR's extremes. Newer roads with little shade stay hot into the evening, so from April to September walk before 7 am and test the ground with the back of your hand before evening walks. Keep the coat in a short clip through the hot months, but never shave it.

Delivery
When we deliver, your puppy travels by car with a responsible person and is handed to you in person. Puppies are never sent alone as cargo. We do not transport puppies in extreme heat; the journey waits for a safe day. Before delivery, we set up a live video call so you can see your puppy and its mother.
