Standard Poodles for Bangalore families, bred and raised by The Royal Paws in Bathinda, Punjab, at ₹85,000 to ₹3,00,000 depending on lineage and KCI papers. Bangalore gives this athletic breed room to be itself, with comfortable walking weather for much of the year. Plan for the rainy months, year-round tick control and a long handover from the north. See our Standard Poodle breed guide for the breed itself, or call 7791901085 about the current litter.

Bangalore Climate

Mild weather: make the most of it

Bangalore sits on the Deccan plateau, and its weather is mild for most of the year, with cool mornings and evenings even in summer. For a Standard Poodle, a retriever at heart, that is a real gift.

  • Longer, more varied exercise. Much of the year you are not confined to a pre-dawn walk. Use it: a long walk, off-lead play in a safe enclosed space, fetch, and weekend outings give this breed the physical work it was bred for.
  • More choice of coat length. In a milder climate you can keep the coat a little longer than in Delhi or Chennai if you enjoy the look, provided you keep up with brushing to the skin. A shorter clip is still easier in the wet months.
  • Watch the warmer weeks. March to May brings warmer afternoons. Shift the long walk to morning or evening then, and carry water.

The one thing mild weather does not fix is an empty flat. If your working week means long hours out of the house, read our advice on planning a Standard Poodle around long office days before you commit.

Rainy Season

A long wet season, and the matting it brings

Bangalore's rain comes from both monsoons, with wet spells from roughly June through November. Downpours are rarely as heavy as on the coast, but the season is long, and a curly coat that never quite dries for weeks at a time does something specific: it tangles and felts close to the skin, often where you cannot see it.

  • Dry fully, then brush. Brushing a damp coat tightens tangles. Dry to the skin first, then work through with a slicker brush and a metal comb. If the comb catches, there is a mat forming.
  • Check the friction points every few days in the wet months: behind the ears, the armpits, the collar line and the backs of the legs.
  • Keep grooms on schedule every six to eight weeks through the rains. Waiting for the season to end usually means a shave-down. Budget around ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 a session, and choose a groomer who can scissor a Poodle coat.

For a step-by-step drying routine and a weekly skin check, see our guide to drying a Poodle coat in humid weather.

Tick Fever

Ticks and tick fever

Tick-borne diseases, mainly ehrlichiosis and babesiosis spread by the brown dog tick, are common in dogs in Indian cities, Bengaluru included. They are serious but usually treatable when caught early, and a dense curly coat makes ticks easy to miss.

  • Use a tick preventive your vet recommends, all year round, not just in summer.
  • Check the coat to the skin after walks, especially the ears, neck, armpits and between the toes.
  • See a vet promptly for fever, tiredness, loss of appetite, pale gums or unusual bleeding. A blood test confirms tick fever.
Rules & Communities

Apartment communities and Bengaluru's dog rules

Bengaluru's proposed dog rules

Pet rules in Bengaluru are being rewritten. After the city's civic administration was reorganised under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), draft pet dog rules were proposed in February 2026. As reported, they include:

  • an annual dog licence, renewed each year for a fee
  • microchipping, paid for by the owner
  • rabies vaccination with official certification
  • sterilisation for dogs over 12 months old
  • no more than three dogs in one household

These were proposals when reported, so check with your city corporation which rules are actually in force when your puppy comes home. Keep your puppy's vaccination records safe either way, because any licence will need them. If you plan to show or breed a KCI-registered Poodle, look closely at the final sterilisation rule.

Your apartment community

Many Bangalore families live in large gated apartment communities, each with its own association and rules on pets in common areas, lifts and parks. Ask for the rules in writing before you commit. Nationally, the Animal Welfare Board of India's guidance is that housing societies cannot ban pets; our guide to pet rights in housing societies and lifts explains it in more detail.

Long-Distance Handover

From Bathinda to Bangalore

Bangalore is more than 2,000 km from Bathinda by road, so bringing a puppy home takes planning, and the timing is agreed with you well in advance.

Delivery

When we deliver, your puppy travels by car with a responsible person and is handed to you in person. Puppies are never sent alone as cargo. We do not transport puppies in extreme heat; the journey waits for a safe day. Before delivery, we set up a live video call so you can see your puppy and its mother. Ask us about delivery timing and any cost for your city before you book.

Bangalore's own weather is rarely the obstacle. The route north is: it crosses some of India's hottest regions, so from April to June a delivery date may need to wait for safe travelling weather. The puppy's welfare decides the date.

Collection

You can collect your puppy from us in Bathinda, which is also the best chance to meet the parents and see where the litter was raised. Travelling back without a car? Confirm, before you book tickets, that your carrier currently accepts an eight-week-old puppy and on what terms.

When your puppy arrives

  • Register with a Bangalore vet and share the vaccination and deworming records in the first week.
  • Ask the vet about starting tick prevention at the right age.
  • Give the puppy a quiet first few days before introducing it to the whole community.
Buying Safely

Brokers, and how to spot one

A puppy advertised in Bangalore may have been brought in from elsewhere by a middleman who collects it only once you have paid. Buying from a breeder in another city is not the problem. Buying from someone who did not breed the puppy and cannot show you where it came from is.

Ask to see the mother, live, with the litter, in the room where they are raised, and to see the vaccination, vet and parent health records on the same call. A broker usually cannot. We can, because the puppies are ours: they are bred and raised by us in Bathinda. We never ask for a deposit on the first call.

FAQ

Standard Poodles in Bangalore: Your Questions

Is Bangalore a good city for a Standard Poodle?

Its climate is one of the kindest in India for a curly-coated dog: mild for most of the year, with cool mornings and evenings, so long walks are comfortable far more often than in north India. The things to plan for are the long rainy season, ticks, and making sure someone is around during long working days.

How do I stop a Standard Poodle's coat matting in Bangalore's rainy season?

In the wet months the coat can stay damp for weeks, and damp curls tangle and felt at the skin. Dry the coat fully after wet walks, then brush right down to the skin with a slicker brush and comb while it is dry. Book grooms on schedule through the rains rather than waiting for them to end.

Is tick fever a risk for dogs in Bangalore?

Yes. Tick-borne diseases such as ehrlichiosis and babesiosis, spread mainly by the brown dog tick, are common in dogs in Indian cities, Bengaluru included. Use a vet-recommended tick preventive all year, check the coat to the skin after walks, and see a vet quickly for fever, tiredness, loss of appetite or pale gums.

Do I need to license my dog in Bengaluru?

Rules are being revised. In February 2026 the Greater Bengaluru Authority proposed new pet dog rules, including an annual licence, microchipping, rabies vaccination certificates, sterilisation for dogs over 12 months and a limit of three dogs per household. Check with your city corporation which rules are in force when your puppy comes home.

Can you deliver a Standard Poodle puppy to Bangalore?

Yes, with careful planning, because Bangalore is more than 2,000 km from Bathinda by road. Yes. Your puppy travels by car with a responsible person, never alone as cargo, and we set up a live video call with you before delivery. Ask us about delivery timing and any cost for your city before you book. We do not transport puppies in extreme heat; the journey waits for a safe day.

What is the price of a Standard Poodle puppy for Bangalore?

Our Standard Poodle puppies cost ₹85,000 to ₹3,00,000: pet quality ₹85,000 to ₹1,30,000, KCI registered ₹1,30,000 to ₹2,00,000, and champion bloodline ₹2,00,000 to ₹3,00,000. The puppy's price does not change by city. For Bangalore, delivery timing and cost are agreed with you before you book.

A seller in Bangalore has puppies ready today. Should I worry?

Ask where the mother is and whether you can see her live with the litter. Some puppies sold locally are brought in from elsewhere by middlemen. A breeder in another city is not a problem in itself; a seller who cannot show you the mother, the litter and the records is.
